The 1996–97 Orlando Magic were led by Penny Hardaway, whose scoring, playmaking, and all-around production made him the focal point of the offense. Rony Seikaly provided dependable interior scoring and rebounding, while Nick Anderson added perimeter offense and defensive versatility. Orlando featured balanced scoring and strong ball movement, with a capable inside-out attack, but inconsistent defensive play and rebounding limited the team’s overall effectiveness.
