The 2016–17 Brooklyn Nets finished the season with a 20–62 record, landing them at the 30th and last position in the Eastern Conference. This was a rebuilding year for the team, as they focused on developing young talent like Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and Isaiah Whitehead. Brook Lopez continued to be the team’s primary offensive weapon, and Jeremy Lin had a solid season when healthy. Joe Harris had a breakout year, particularly with his 3-point shooting.
