The Ciudad de México Capitanes continued to establish themselves as a unique presence in the NBA G League during the 2023-24 season, combining experienced international professionals with former NBA talent in pursuit of a playoff spot. Guard Davion Berry played a central role in the offense, while veterans such as Alfonzo McKinnie and Gary Clark brought familiarity with both the NBA and high-level professional basketball abroad. The Capitanes again reflected the organization’s international identity, featuring players from multiple countries and serving as a showcase for talent beyond the traditional U.S. development path. Although consistency proved difficult to maintain over the course of the season, Ciudad de México remained competitive in the Western Conference race and continued to strengthen its foothold as the G League’s first franchise based outside the United States and Canada.
