The 1959–60 Los Angeles Lakers were built around Elgin Baylor, whose elite scoring, rebounding, and playmaking established him as the team’s all-around leader. Hot Rod Hundley complemented him as a secondary scorer and primary ball-handler, while Rudy LaRusso and Ray Felix supplied valuable frontcourt rebounding and interior production. The Lakers relied on Baylor’s versatility to drive a balanced offense, supported by solid rebounding and contributions from an experienced supporting cast.
