Mitchell Robinson has struggled to stay healthy during his NBA career so far and I don’t see that changing now unfortunately. Robinson has played six NBA seasons and one of them was a healthy one (2021-22) where he completed playing in 72 games. Robinson is scheduled to make his debut for the 2024-25 NBA Season on March 1. Most analysts are expecting him to slot behind Karl Anthony Towns on the depth chart or maybe even beside him. I don’t see him that far up the depth chart. I think Precious Achiuwa has had a very good season so far and I can’t imagine Tom Thibodeau pulling him out of that role and giving it to another player who can’t stay healthy. If he does do that and Robinson gets injured again, the Knicks will have some chemistry issues because Achiuwa won’t be feeling valued by the club. Also, I think it’s understandable to have Robinson warming the bench until Towns or Achiuwa get injured because he hasn’t proven to stay healthy which is his own fault. He should need to wait for a roster spot to open back up where he will get to prove himself. There’s a chance the Knicks ownership stands in due to how much they’re paying Robinson. 2/24/2025
