The San Antonio Spurs 1988–89 season was led by rookie Willie Anderson, who immediately became the team’s primary scoring option, while Alvin Robertson contributed across the board with elite perimeter defense, playmaking, and rebounding. Johnny Dawkins provided steady ball distribution when available, helping direct the offense. Although the Spurs generated balanced individual production and forced turnovers effectively, inconsistent offensive efficiency and defensive lapses contributed to a difficult season.
