The Phoenix Suns 2005–06 overcame the loss of Amar’e Stoudemire for most of the season by leaning on Steve Nash’s elite playmaking and efficient scoring, while Shawn Marion expanded his offensive role without sacrificing his rebounding and defensive impact. Boris Diaw emerged as a versatile all-around contributor, and Raja Bell added perimeter shooting and defence. Phoenix remained an elite offensive team, defined by exceptional ball movement, efficient shooting and balanced scoring despite reduced interior production.
