The Delaware Blue Coats’ 2022-23 season delivered the defining achievement in franchise history. After finishing near the top of the Eastern Conference, Delaware carried its strong regular-season form into the playoffs and captured the NBA G League championship, defeating the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the Finals. The roster featured a blend of rising prospects and experienced professionals, with Jaden Springer taking a major step forward as one of the league’s standout guards and earning Finals MVP honors. Veterans such as Carlik Jones and David Stockton helped stabilize the backcourt, while assignments from the Philadelphia 76ers periodically strengthened an already deep rotation. Rather than relying on a single star, the Blue Coats won through depth, continuity, and disciplined execution, culminating in the second league title in franchise history and one of the most accomplished seasons the organization has produced.
