The 1987–88 Portland Trail Blazers were built around Clyde Drexler, whose scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and defensive activity established him as the team’s all-around leader. Kiki Vandeweghe supplied efficient secondary scoring, while Terry Porter emerged as the primary playmaker and Jerome Kersey added rebounding and defensive versatility. The Trail Blazers combined balanced offensive production with strong ball movement and aggressive defense, though rebounding remained a relative weakness compared to their other strengths.
