The 1985–86 Atlanta Hawks concluded the regular season with a 50–32 record, finishing 2nd in the NBA’s Central Division. They advanced to the playoffs, defeating the Detroit Pistons 3–1 in the Eastern Conference First Round, but were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Semifinals by the Boston Celtics, losing the series 1–4.
