The 2009–10 Boston Celtics were led by Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett, with Rondo emerging as the team’s primary playmaker and a major all-around contributor. Pierce and Allen supplied consistent perimeter scoring, while Garnett anchored the frontcourt with rebounding and defense. Boston combined efficient ball movement, strong defensive play and balanced scoring, though its offense relied more on execution and depth than overwhelming individual production.

Rajon Rondo Starter/Star 36.6 High 13.7 4.4 9.8 2.4 80.26 Tempo-setting point guard who controlled almost every important possession, Rondo blended elite playmaking with disruptive perimeter defense. His league-leading assist numbers and 2.3 steals per game made him the engine behind Boston’s offense and one of its most impactful defenders. All-Star 2010, All-Defensive First Team 2010, DPOY 5th
Paul Pierce Starter/Star 34.0 High 18.3 4.4 3.1 1.6 72.07 Go-to scorer in the half court, Pierce balanced perimeter shot-making with physical drives and frequent trips to the foul line. Even on a veteran roster, he remained the player Boston trusted most to create offense late in games. All-Star 2010
Kevin Garnett Starter/Star 29.9 High 14.3 7.3 2.7 1.8 68.38 Defensive anchor first and scorer second, Garnett’s communication and positioning still shaped Boston’s identity. His mobility looked improved after injury concerns the previous year, allowing him to impact games on both ends. All-Star 2010
Ray Allen Starter/Star 35.2 High 16.3 3.2 2.6 1.1 61.25 Constant off-ball movement defined Allen’s season as he stretched defenses with shooting gravity and veteran discipline. He remained one of the league’s most feared perimeter threats while posting elite efficiency from the foul line.
Kendrick Perkins Starter/Star 27.6 Medium 10.1 7.6 1.0 2.0 47.59 Physical interior specialist who set hard screens, defended bigger centers, and cleaned up possessions on the glass. His rim protection and toughness gave Boston a dependable defensive backbone in the paint. DPOY 17th
Rasheed Wallace Key Contributor 22.5 Medium 9.0 4.1 1.0 1.9 36.96 Stretch big before it became commonplace, Wallace pulled opposing centers away from the rim and added defensive versatility. His scoring fluctuated, but his spacing and basketball IQ fit Boston’s veteran system.
Glen Davis Key Contributor 17.3 Medium 6.3 3.8 0.6 0.7 26.57 Energetic reserve forward who brought instant offense and physical play off the bench. Davis often supplied a spark with his mid-range touch and willingness to battle bigger frontcourt players.
Tony Allen Key Contributor 16.5 Medium 6.1 2.7 1.3 1.5 26.57 Defensive stopper whose impact went well beyond the box score. Allen routinely took difficult perimeter assignments and used his athleticism to create turnovers and disrupt offensive rhythm.
Eddie House Bench 16.9 Low 7.2 1.4 1.0 0.7 20.60 Microwave scorer who specialized in quick-strike shooting off the bench. When Boston needed instant offense, House’s confidence and deep range could change momentum in a hurry.
Nate Robinson Bench 14.7 Low 6.5 1.5 2.0 0.8 21.60 Change-of-pace guard who attacked aggressively and hunted his own shot. His scoring bursts gave Boston another creator when the second unit needed energy.
Marquis Daniels Bench 18.4 Low 5.6 1.9 1.3 0.6 18.80 Versatile wing who filled multiple roles depending on matchup needs. Daniels contributed with cutting, secondary ball-handling, and solid positional defense rather than high-volume scoring.
Michael Finley Bench 15.0 Low 5.2 1.6 1.1 0.3 16.40 Veteran floor spacer who understood how to play within a contender’s structure. Though his role was limited, his shooting and experience added depth to the wing rotation.
Shelden Williams Bench 11.1 Low 3.7 2.7 0.4 0.6 14.80 Depth big man who focused on rebounding, physical defense, and energy minutes. His production came mostly from effort plays around the basket.
Oliver Lafayette Bench 22.0 Low 7.0 4.0 2.0 0.0 26.00 Appearing in only one game, Lafayette showed flashes of playmaking and perimeter scoring in a brief opportunity. The sample size was far too small to establish a regular role.
Brian Scalabrine Bench 9.1 Low 1.5 0.9 0.5 0.3 6.40 End-of-rotation forward whose value came from spacing the floor and understanding team concepts. Most of his contributions occurred in limited reserve minutes.
Lester Hudson Bench 4.4 Low 1.4 0.5 0.5 0.3 5.40 Rookie guard who saw sporadic action and spent most of the year providing depth. His opportunities were limited on a veteran championship contender.
J.R. Giddens Bench 4.7 Low 1.1 1.0 0.3 0.2 5.20 Athletic wing prospect whose season consisted mostly of developmental minutes. He flashed defensive tools but struggled to earn a consistent role.
Henry Walker Bench 3.6 Low 1.0 0.6 0.4 0.0 4.00 Young reserve wing who appeared briefly and was largely used as organizational depth. Most of his value came from energy and athleticism.
Marcus Landry Bench 3.0 Low 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.00 Made a lone appearance during the season and did not record a statistical contribution. His NBA opportunities remained extremely limited.
