The 1988–89 Los Angeles Lakers combined elite playmaking with balanced scoring, as Magic Johnson orchestrated the offense while James Worthy and Byron Scott provided efficient perimeter production. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Mychal Thompson gave the frontcourt an experienced interior presence, with A.C. Green controlling the glass and contributing on both ends. Excellent shooting efficiency, unselfish ball movement, and strong rebounding defined a team built around an explosive, well-rounded offense.
