This tier includes players who make significant contributions to winning but are not the primary focal points of their teams. Many are starters, high-minute rotation players, secondary creators, defensive specialists, or important supporting pieces around star players.
The Key Contributor Role Tier does not describe a single basketball role. Instead, it contains a wide variety of basketball functions that share a similar level of team responsibility.
Examples of Key Contributor Roles include:
- Starting Two-Way Wing
- Secondary Offensive Creator
- Secondary Playmaker
- Offensive Connector
- Stretch Big
- Starting Interior Presence
- Starting Floor Spacer
- Glue Guy Starter
- Transition Finisher
- Starting Defensive Specialist
- Two-Way Forward
- Starting Rim Protector
- Perimeter Defensive Stopper
- High-Minute Rotation Wing
- Secondary Scoring Option
- Movement Shooting Specialist
- Versatile Frontcourt Starter
- Defensive-Minded Starter
- Starting Pick-and-Roll Partner
- Complementary Offensive Piece
- Hybrid Forward Contributor

Players in this tier often perform critical functions that support a team’s stars and overall structure. While they may not carry the same level of responsibility as Star-Level players, they frequently play major roles in team success.
Assignments are based on season-specific responsibilities and team context rather than simple starting status or statistical production.
Role Factor: 1.05
