I traded Ja Morant for Scoot Henderson and a high to mid first (2024). It’s not that I don’t believe in Morant; it’s that once you start getting into trouble, it’s very difficult to break the cycle. It’s not only Morant who may get himself into trouble. Everyone else who may target him could now target him on purpose. What he has working in his favor is the NBA views him as an asset and wants him to be in the league, so he should be safe. But overall, he is a risk now and overvalued.
Overall, I expect there to be at least more drama in Morant’s life, which should reduce his mental ability to become what he otherwise would have been. I also just saw as I wrote this that he is now listed as out for the rest of the season due to injury. With the added injury, I’m very confident with my trade. I mentioned previously why I have high hopes for Scoot Henderson, though I made this trade before the start of the season and Henderson hasn’t had a great year overall.
