Indiana is a basketball town. I have a lot of respect for basketball teams based in Indiana for that reason, even though I wouldn’t want to live there unless I had to. I’m glad Caitlin Clarke went to Indiana. I think she’s going to be great for basketball, and I hope she can help lift a smaller market to new heights. I try to support smaller market teams at times. It just so happens that some of my affiliations ended up being in bigger cities. But that’s also natural.
When I played basketball briefly as an adult, I wore number 22. I wanted 22 because of the meaning behind the number and because I knew it represented stability. I wanted to represent stability for my basketball team. But I never knew of any player I liked who wore 22, and up until now I haven’t been in love with any I can think of. Caitlin Clarke represents 22 perfectly. She’s about to make that number real cool.
