It’s concerning to hear Eric Gordon say that he’d like to shoot the ball more. Gordon is one of the best shooters in NBA history. He has by far the best mechanics on the Suns’ roster for shooting.

Generally, Gordon should be shooting when he’s open naturally. The fact that he is on some kind of a shot limit is bad coaching, and I can’t believe in the Sun’s outcome while they choose to play that way.

I know that there are other teams that plan how many shots a player can take. I never agree with it.
The only time a player is shooting too much is when they are shooting and missing and it’s not efficient for the team, so you have to pull them aside and tell them to shoot less. But it’s a poor gameplan to set out by limiting your shooters — it’s a one-dimensional offense. And one-dimensional offenses do not work.
