The 2022-23 season marked the franchise’s first under the Ontario Clippers name following the rebrand from Agua Caliente, and the team remained one of the G League’s tougher defensive groups despite an uneven campaign. Ontario finished 17-15, ranking among the league leaders defensively while playing at one of its slowest paces, but narrowly missed a postseason berth after reaching the conference finals the year before.
Much of the season centered on the development of young players within the Los Angeles Clippers system. Moussa Diabate, Jason Preston, and Brandon Boston Jr. all logged significant minutes, while returning guard Keaton Wallace continued to establish himself as one of the organization’s most reliable G League performers. Veteran contributors such as Xavier Moon, Malik Fitts, and Bryson Williams helped stabilize the rotation, giving Ontario a mix of NBA-affiliated prospects and experienced professionals as the club navigated its inaugural season under its new identity.
