The College Park Skyhawks’ 2022-23 season was built around one of the most talented young groups in franchise history. First-round NBA prospect AJ Griffin spent time with the club during assignment appearances, while Tyrese Martin and Sharife Cooper carried major responsibilities across the backcourt. The Skyhawks also benefited from productive stretches by Justin Tillman, whose interior scoring and rebounding helped anchor the frontcourt. Unlike some G League teams built around veteran-heavy lineups, College Park regularly entrusted significant minutes to developing players connected to the Atlanta Hawks organization, making the roster one of the younger groups in the league. That approach brought occasional inconsistency, but it also produced exciting individual performances and valuable growth opportunities as the Skyhawks remained in the playoff race throughout much of the season.

| PLAYER NAME | ROLE TIER | MPG | USAGE TIER | PPG | RPG | APG | STK | IMPACT INDEX | NOTES | AWARDS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jarrett Culver | Primary Wing Creator (1.05) | 28.8 | High | 21.2 | 7.5 | 1.5 | 2.2 | 81.65 | As a downhill wing creator, Culver attacked the paint, rebounded aggressively and handled a sizeable share of the offense during his brief College Park stint. The five-game sample was short, but his two-way contract and immediate starting role made him a genuine focal point before the January trade to Rio Grande Valley. Vipers acquire Jarrett Culver | — |
| A.J. Lawson | Two-Way Scoring Wing (1.1) | 32.4 | High | 21.2 | 6.2 | 1.9 | 1.4 | 81.05 | Lawson functioned as a high-volume scoring wing with enough size to contribute on the glass and attack closeouts. He opened the season as a starter, scored 24 points with nine rebounds on opening night, and his early production helped earn him a Minnesota two-way opportunity. A.J. Lawson returns to College Park | NBA Call-Up (2022) |
| Brandon Williams | Lead Shot Creator (1.1) | 31.9 | High | 19.4 | 3.8 | 5.6 | 1.5 | 79.99 | Williams was the primary initiator, combining pull-up scoring with heavy pick-and-roll responsibility and enough passing creativity to keep the offense moving. His 2022-23 College Park season established him as a high-usage G League lead guard, a role that later helped keep him on NBA radars. Brandon Williams profile and career path | — |
| Tyrese Martin | Two-Way Scoring Wing (1.05) | 30.1 | High | 18.4 | 7.9 | 1.0 | 1.4 | 72.32 | Martin played as a powerful scoring wing who could punish smaller defenders, rebound outside his position and finish possessions rather than constantly initiating them. His postseason-caliber workload never fully turned him into a point-forward, but he became one of College Park’s most dependable offensive weapons and produced a franchise-record 46-point game. Tyrese Martin’s 2022-23 season context | — |
| Chris Silva | Interior Defensive Anchor (1.05) | 26.3 | Medium | 13.6 | 9.3 | 2.8 | 2.7 | 65.60 | Silva supplied the physical backbone of the frontcourt, operating as a relentless offensive rebounder, interior finisher and help-side rim protector. His combination of rebounding, passing from the interior and 1.7 blocks per game made him much more than a conventional energy big, and the Mavericks eventually gave him an NBA opportunity. Chris Silva’s College Park season profile | NBA Call-Up (2023) |
| Armoni Brooks | Movement Shooting Specialist (1.05) | 31.1 | High | 15.4 | 4.5 | 2.2 | 1.0 | 58.21 | Brooks operated primarily as a floor-spacing scorer, with a large portion of his offensive value tied to perimeter volume and quick-trigger shooting. The season also showed why his development remained intriguing: he was looking to become more consistent as a scorer while adding more defensive impact rather than living solely as a spot-up threat. Armoni Brooks embraces expanded offensive role | — |
| Jared Rhoden | Two-Way Slashing Wing (1.05) | 25.3 | Medium | 13.9 | 6.4 | 1.4 | 1.3 | 53.13 | Rhoden brought a physical wing game built around attacking space, rebounding and defending multiple perimeter positions. His College Park stint quickly translated into a larger opportunity, with Detroit signing him to a two-way contract after he left the Skyhawks. Jared Rhoden’s move from College Park to Detroit | NBA Call-Up (2022) |
| Langston Galloway | Veteran Perimeter Stabilizer (1.05) | 33.4 | Medium | 12.4 | 4.2 | 2.2 | 0.9 | 45.51 | Galloway served as the veteran stabilizer, spacing the floor, making quick decisions and providing dependable perimeter shooting without needing every possession designed for him. His 45.8% three-point shooting gave College Park a valuable release valve, while his veteran presence extended beyond the court through his community work. Langston Galloway wins Community Assist Award | NBA G League Community Assist Award (2023) |
| Trent Forrest | Pick-and-Roll Floor General (1.05) | 23.2 | Medium | 9.0 | 3.0 | 5.0 | 1.4 | 38.64 | Forrest was a table-setting guard whose value came from organizing possessions, getting downhill and creating shots for teammates rather than forcing himself into a scorer’s role. The tiny five-game sample limits the projection, but his efficient shooting and five assists per game show a clear lead-guard function when available. Trent Forrest profile | — |
| Malik Ellison | Defensive Utility Wing (1.0) | 23.3 | Low | 9.4 | 4.1 | 0.9 | 1.6 | 32.00 | Ellison functioned as a versatile rotation wing who could defend across positions, rebound from the perimeter and finish efficiently without demanding constant touches. His season was interrupted by a very small sample, so the evidence supports a complementary role rather than a sustained offensive centerpiece. Malik Ellison’s College Park profile | — |
| Giorgi Bezhanishvili | Passing Stretch Big (1.0) | 20.6 | Low | 6.9 | 5.5 | 2.0 | 0.9 | 30.60 | Bezhanishvili functioned as a mobile frontcourt connector, using his passing and touch around the elbows to keep possessions flowing rather than simply posting up. His ability to score efficiently while facilitating from the frontcourt helped him remain useful despite a reserve role, and he later continued his professional path with Vancouver. | Tyson Etienne | Instant-Offense Guard (1.0) | 19.4 | Low | 7.6 | 1.9 | 2.6 | 0.7 | 25.60 | Etienne supplied second-unit shot creation and perimeter pressure, with his role leaning toward quick scoring bursts rather than full-time orchestration. The modest minutes and low usage relative to the team’s lead guards point to a reserve scorer whose value came from changing the tempo of possessions. Tyson Etienne’s G League career context | — |
| Davion Warren | Defensive Pressure Wing (1.0) | 14.0 | Low | 6.9 | 2.3 | 1.0 | 0.9 | 22.20 | Warren was primarily a low-minute perimeter defender and transition option, with his athleticism offering more value away from the ball than through sustained half-court creation. The limited sample makes the role clear but leaves little basis for treating him as a major offensive piece. Davion Warren’s College Park role | — |
| Ibi Watson | Perimeter Depth Shooter (1.0) | 15.0 | Low | 4.5 | 0.0 | 0.5 | 0.0 | 10.00 | Watson’s two-game sample points to a limited perimeter-depth role, with his primary offensive utility coming from spacing and opportunistic shooting rather than ball handling. The extremely small sample makes broader conclusions about his season role inappropriate. | — |
Regular Season
| PLAYER NAME | ROLE TIER | MPG | USAGE TIER | PPG | RPG | APG | STK | IMPACT INDEX | NOTES | AWARDS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brandon Williams | Primary Offensive Engine (1.1) | 31.6 | High (1.2) | 19.8 | 4.0 | 5.9 | 1.4 | 82.10 | Lead-ball-handler responsibilities defined Williams’ season: he created offense off the bounce, worked extensively in pick-and-roll actions and still carried enough scoring pressure to keep defenses engaged. His combination of 19.8 points and 5.9 assists made him the Skyhawks’ clearest offensive organizer. Sports Illustrated | — |
| Tyrese Martin | Primary Wing Creator (1.05) | 33.9 | High (1.2) | 18.0 | 9.2 | 1.9 | 1.2 | 76.36 | Martin played with a physical wing-first style, using his size to attack mismatches and dominate the defensive glass rather than functioning as a traditional point forward. His College Park assignment became an important development environment during a rookie season split between the Hawks and G League. Peachtree Hoops | — |
| Trent Forrest | Franchise Floor General (1.05) | 27.1 | High (1.2) | 14.6 | 5.1 | 5.8 | 2.5 | 64.68 | Forrest was the classic organizing guard in this stint, controlling tempo and getting downhill while creating opportunities for teammates. In one of his later appearances he produced 23 points and eight assists, reinforcing how naturally his game translated into a primary point-guard role when assigned to College Park. CBS Sports | — |
| Jarrett Culver | Two-Way Wing Creator (1.05) | 28.2 | High (1.2) | 14.2 | 7.6 | 1.4 | 2.4 | 64.51 | Culver’s short stint was built around physical wing play: attacking the rim, rebounding from the perimeter and using his size defensively. The five-game sample was unusually brief, but he started three games before his two-way contract was terminated and he was moved to Rio Grande Valley. (The NBA G League) | — |
| Chris Silva | Interior Defensive Anchor (1.05) | 25.8 | Medium (1.1) | 14.1 | 9.6 | 2.1 | 2.1 | 64.45 | Silva gave College Park its most imposing interior presence, combining relentless offensive rebounding with physical finishes and aggressive help defense. His passing was useful too; he recorded several games with five or more assists, showing that his value extended beyond rim-running and rebounding. CBS Sports | NBA Call-Up (2023) |
| Langston Galloway | Veteran Perimeter Stabilizer (1.05) | 32.3 | High (1.2) | 15.9 | 3.3 | 2.1 | 1.9 | 53.59 | Galloway operated as a veteran shooting outlet who could punish defensive gaps without monopolizing the ball. His 45.8% three-point shooting on heavy volume gave the Skyhawks a reliable perimeter release valve, while his veteran experience helped stabilize a constantly changing G League rotation. Sporting News | NBA G League Community Assist Award (2023) |
| Armoni Brooks | Movement Shooting Specialist (1.05) | 26.5 | Medium (1.1) | 14.1 | 5.0 | 1.7 | 1.1 | 50.59 | Brooks’ offensive identity centered on perimeter gravity and willingness to fire without hesitation. His 7.7 three-point attempts per game show how heavily the Skyhawks used him as a floor-spacing threat, while his own emphasis on improving consistency fits the developmental nature of his College Park role. Yahoo Sports | — |
| Vít Krejčí | Jumbo Playmaking Connector (1.05) | 34.0 | Medium (1.1) | 9.0 | 9.7 | 3.0 | 0.7 | 47.04 | Krejčí’s tiny three-game sample was unusual because his 6-foot-8 guard frame allowed him to rebound like a forward while still initiating offense. The assignment was primarily developmental and short-lived, so the 9.7 rebounds and three assists point to a versatile connector role rather than a stable season-long usage pattern. (The NBA G League) | NBA Assignment (2022-23) |
| Donovan Williams | Slashing Wing Scorer (1.05) | 28.5 | Medium (1.1) | 12.6 | 4.8 | 1.5 | 1.4 | 46.89 | Williams developed into a useful scoring wing after joining College Park, with his athleticism allowing him to attack closeouts and finish in transition. His 29-point, six-rebound, three-assist performance against Maine showed the scoring ceiling that made him valuable enough to receive an Atlanta two-way contract. Peachtree Hoops | NBA Call-Up (2023) |
| Cat Barber | Veteran Pick-and-Roll Guard (1.0) | 21.0 | Low (1.0) | 10.8 | 2.5 | 3.6 | 0.7 | 35.20 | Barber provided veteran ball-handling and pick-and-roll creation after returning to College Park late in the season. His role was more complementary than during earlier Skyhawks stints, but the 3.6 assists per game still reflected a guard trusted to organize second-unit possessions. Sportando | — |
| Giorgi Bezhanishvili | Passing Stretch Big (1.0) | 23.6 | Low (1.0) | 9.1 | 5.5 | 2.2 | 0.8 | 35.20 | Bezhanishvili functioned as an offensive connector from the frontcourt, using touch around the basket and passing ability to keep possessions moving. A 30-point, 12-rebound performance against Westchester showed the scoring ceiling behind a generally complementary role. CBS Sports | — |
| Malik Ellison | Defensive Utility Wing (1.0) | 21.5 | Low (1.0) | 7.5 | 5.0 | 0.8 | 1.0 | 28.60 | Ellison’s value came from versatility and physical wing play rather than high-volume creation. His earlier College Park experience had already established him as a useful rebounder from the perimeter, and the 2022-23 stint again fit a low-touch, defensive-minded role. (NBA.com) | — |
| Davion Warren | Transition Pressure Wing (1.0) | 11.3 | Low (1.0) | 5.6 | 3.3 | 0.8 | 0.6 | 20.60 | Warren was primarily a low-minute athletic wing, offering defensive pressure and transition energy when called upon. The limited workload makes the role fairly clear but leaves little evidence for a larger offensive responsibility. (Memphis Hustle) | — |
| Tyson Etienne | Instant-Offense Guard (1.0) | 16.0 | Low (1.0) | 6.1 | 1.2 | 1.1 | 0.6 | 18.00 | Etienne’s College Park role was considerably smaller than the high-usage scoring role he had occupied at Wichita State. He remained a perimeter-minded guard capable of creating offense in short bursts, but his 2022-23 G League workload was largely developmental. The Wichita Eagle | — |
| Austin Trice | Frontcourt Depth Piece (1.0) | 6.5 | Low (1.0) | 1.0 | 2.0 | 0.0 | 0.0 | 6.00 | Trice saw only a tiny two-game sample, functioning strictly as frontcourt depth. With just 13 total minutes in the supplied sample, there is not enough evidence to characterize a broader offensive role beyond providing size and rebounding support. (The NBA G League) | — |
