Kyle Lowry, who will go down as one of the best undrafted point guards in history, and certainly in the Miami Heat’s history, was getting too old for what this team needed from him.
I watched several Miami Heat games today. Terry Rozier hasn’t been great statistically for the Heat yet, but his presence on the court is very apparent. For now, the Heat are considered long shots to make The Finals, but they could beat anyone with Rozier if Butler plays to his potential. The only thing stopping Butler in his prime is a lack of depth. They have that depth now, especially with fan favorite Jaime Jaquez Jr. It’s also difficult for visiting teams to win in Miami due to the audio.

Ironically, the Miami Heat play the Philadephia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. Kyle Lowrie was traded from the Heat earlier in the season for Terry Rozier. But that meant Lowrie was in Charlotte where Rozier was playing before he was traded to the Heat. Later at the trade deadline, Lowrie went to the 76ers. What’s more, Lowrie was traded by the Heat because they felt they needed an upgrade at point guard, yet he is in the starting five for the 76ers first-round matchup with the Heat. Presumably, that will mean the Heat are the stronger team because Jimmy Butler is matched up with Tobias Harris. That already means the Heat are stronger in 2 out of the 5 starting positions. In addition, Butler will be hard to stop and the best player for the 76ers, Embiid, plays the center position. I don’t know how the 76ers will stop Miami’s outside shooting.
