Alec Burks has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Heat. Burks spent last season playing for the New York Knicks where he had a relatively quiet season, averaging 6.5 points in 13.5 minutes per game. He also only played in 23 games during the 2023-24 season.

Before playing for the Knicks, Burks spent two seasons with the Pistons where he had a big role. Burks played a total of 94 games for the Pistons and averaged 12.7 points in 21.5 minutes per game.

Before playing for the Pistons, Burks spent 2 years playing for the New York Knicks. Last season was the second time he had signed with the Knicks.

Burks is listed as the backup point guard on the Miami Heat depth chart. A backup point guard was a positional need for the Heat this season since Terry Rozier was unavailable during the playoffs due to a neck issue.
