The 2012 WNBA season was the sixteenth season in league history and featured 12 teams competing across the Eastern and Western Conferences. The Minnesota Lynx finished with the league’s best regular-season record at 27-7, but it was the Indiana Fever that captured the WNBA championship, defeating the defending champion Lynx in the WNBA Finals. Led by a veteran roster and strong postseason play, Indiana claimed the first championship in franchise history during one of the most competitive seasons of the early 2010s.
