PANINI
I’m not thrilled with Panini cards at the moment. It’s not that the cards they produce can’t be or aren’t valuable. The part I don’t like is the lack of variety: each player has the exact same card produced. Players aren’t given unique cards anymore. Players should have unique cards if for no other reason than we as collectors look at a variety of them. Panini is clearly a top NBA card manufacturer today, but given the lack of variety, I have tried to find some Topps cards to add to the list as well.

2023-24 Victor Wembanyama Panini Prizm #136
The Victor Wembanyama Panini Prizm #136 is another card that features a lot of silver. As mentioned above, that’s good as is because silveris desirable. But silver is also a color of the San Antonio Spurs. It goes perfectly for the SPurs player of the future. If Wembanyama indeed has a long career for the Spurs, cards like the Panini #136 will only become more desirable. For some Spurs fans, silver may even look better than gold.

Note: There is a similar version of this card called the Monopoly Panini Prizm Victor Wembanyama #81. Panini has made a Monopoly cards for many rookies this year. It’s still a nice card but I like it less for long-term investors. Victor’s name featured on the card is better than the word “monopoly” even though the Spurs may be about to start a new dynasty era.
2023-24 Panini Prizm #152 Brandon Miller Silver
It’s not easy to find Brandon Miller cards that look like good value for money as they are quite expensive. I found this Panini Prizm #152 Silver card that was considerably cheaper than his others. It still has plenty of color through it if you like that sort of thing. As Panini keeps releasing cards with various colors pulsating through them, I like to look for the simpler more traditional cards as investments.

2022-23 Panini Select Rookie Revolution RC #18 Chet Holmgren
Chet Holmgren has inexpensive cards compared to other rookies. Chet’s rookie year was 2022-23, but the 2023-24 season was comnsidered his rookie season in real life because he was injured for the 2022-23 season. Still, it is the 2022-23 that remains his rookie season as far as rookie cards go. Chet has numerous rookie cards that make good investments. Of the bunch, I really liked the 2022-23 Panini Select Rookie Revolution #18 card.
It’s available for $20 on Ebay and comes with a “foil” background that looks easily damaged. How many of these will survive in mint condition? The card also makes it clear that it is a rookie card on the front and back, which is also a trend lately with Panini cards.
2023-24 Select Basketball Scoot Henderson Courtside Blue
Panani rookie cards are very popular this year. The problem is they all look the same but for different players. I tried looking for a Topps card instead for Scoot Henderson and found this portait shot on draft dat. Only 25 of these cards were printed. And there are Gem Mints available for a few hundred dollars.
I found it for US $329.99 on eBay in 2024.

GG Jackson II Rookie Card 2023-24 Panini NBA Hoops #275
GG Jackson has the potential to be a star in the NBA. He finished his rookie season very strong when others were out with injury. He is the type of player you want to pick up a cheap card of and hold it just in case he becomes something special. GG Jackson fans should love this NBA Hoops #275 rookie card. It’s a traditional basketball card with a nice big picture of the player on it — exactly what you want.

2022-23 Bowman Inception University Blue Foil V1 /99 GG Jackson #31
Another GG Jackson card that looks like good value is the Bowman Inception University Blue Foil #31. Only 99 of these cards were made, and you can buy the GG Jackson #31 card for $35 in 2024. That looks like great value when you compare it to Marcus Sasser’s version of the same card that is available for the same price.
2023 Prizm Bronze #179 GG Jackson II
Another very good GG Jackson investment should prove to be the 2023 Prizm #179. These cards are often seen in bronze and silver. They also come in blue, green, pink, red, and other colors including a shiney pulsar prism. I assume there’s also a gold version. The silver costs three times as much as the bronze in 2024. The silver is better, but at thrre times the price, it’s not cheap for a player who you don’t know how good is he going to be.
Some bronze cards don’t look very desirable and you know that you would much prefer the silver and gold versions of the same card. You would obviously take the silver and gold version of the #179 GG Jackson as well, but the bronze one still looks desirable. I can easily see this card rising considerably in price in the future.

2023 Prizm Keyonte George Ice Rookie
Keyonte George is one of the few rookie shooting guards who has a chance of becoming a star. He may also turn into a star point guard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Keyonte George develop into something within the realm of Tre Young, but perhaps a better driver.
You can buy a Keyonte George Cracked Ice Prism Card for $49.95 in 2024. A good sophomore season will see this card rise in value.
2023-24 Panini Prizm JAIME JAQUEZ JR Pink Ice
A pink prism card for any good rookie is usually very expensive — it’s one of the most expensive. James Jaques Jr. had a very good rookie season and yet you can buy his Panini Pink Prizm #137 card for $35 in 2024.
2023 Panini Prizm DP #42 Jordan Hawkins Purple Prizm /75
Only 75 Purple Prizm #42 Jordan Hawkins cards were printed and so far only one of them has been graded a PSA 10. The population isn’t likely to go up by much, yet you can buy it for US $125.00 on eBay in 2024.
