Ja’Kobe Walter spent one season (2023-24) playing in college for the Baylor Bears in the Big 12. Walter was one of my favorite shooting guards in the 2024 NBA Draft. I thought he should have been taken in the top 10 given his upside. Walter has the foundation of a very good two-guard. He is well balanced and high-energy player who is already capable inside and outside shooting. Walter is already a very good scorer who can drive to the basket and shoot well. I would have drafted Stephon Castle ahead of him due to the schools they attended and conferences they played in, but they’re not too far apart as they enter their rookie NBA seasons. Walter has very long arms with a wingspan that far exceeds his height which can help him finish around the basket more easily. Walter’s impressive standing reach brings him closer to the basket than you would expect for his height. 8/11/2024
