Scheierman attended Aurora High School in Nebraska, where he showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions and leading his team to significant successes. He began his collegiate career at South Dakota State University, earning recognition for his all-around performance, including leading the team in points, assists, rebounds, and steals during the 2020–2021 season.
