In my opinion, Chris Paul has the highest basketball IQ. I would argue that great point guards have the highest basketball IQs in general because part of their job is to arrange every player on the court which needs a deep understanding of the game. However, it wouldn’t be fair to suggest that all great point guards have a higher basketball IQ than Lebron James for instance because we know, thanks to the wisdom he shares with us on podcasts, etc, that Lebron understands the game of basketball on a level that few people do, including out of all of the NBA players. That said, I’m sure Lebron would call himself partly a point guard. He does refer to himself as a point forward which is a positional name that he pioneered.
