The 1948–49 Los Angeles Lakers were built around George Mikan, whose dominant scoring and rebounding made him the driving force behind the team’s success. Jim Pollard provided valuable secondary scoring, rebounding, and all-around production, while Herm Schaefer and Tony Jaros contributed additional offensive support. The Lakers relied on their powerful interior play and balanced veteran lineup, combining efficient scoring with strong rebounding to establish themselves as one of the league’s most formidable teams.
