Live recap of Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls – Sat, Apr 20, 2024

Heat v Bulls starts at 9 pm ET today.

I’m not expecting the Heat to win this since the Bulls have players putting up 40+ points and beating the Hawks, all the while Butler and Rozier are out. But it should be an exciting game nevertheless. The Heat always play with heart.

When Abebayo looks like the best ball handler in the starting 5, we’ve got problems.

The Heat look like the better team so far. They’re playing with confidence and smoothly. The offense is hitting their shots. Jaquez Jr. plays better in the starting lineup. The test will come when we have to use the bench.

The Heat are up considerably, but I’m still concerned. DeRozan is heating up. The Bulls are starting to find their game.

Coby White’s got game, but thank goodness he doesn’t play for the Heat because I couldn’t look at that haircut everyday.

Fell asleep accidentally during that one. Heat got the win! They did look good. The box score looks weird. Nothing particularly stands out. It doesn’t look like the individual points would add up to the total…just a decent team effort, which is a good thing.

It also makes sense in that regard that the Heat would win. The Bulls relied on a big game from Coby White last time. Coby didn’t have that big game tonight. Coby generally isn’t consistently a high scorer. There wasn’t any obvious backup plan for that tonight.

Shaq was told by his NBA on TNT crew that Jimmy Butler wasn’t coming back. I fully expect Jimmy Butler to play in game 3 nearly regardless of the outcome, but certainly if the Heat are down 0-2. He just played with the injury. He’s obviously coming back if you know Jimmy.

If the Heat are 1-1, he may return game 4. If the Heat are 2-0, he may return game 4. If the Heat are 0-2, he’s coming back in game 3 — no doubt in my mind.

It’s strange to hear Eric Spoelstra say the Heat did something last night that couldn’t be bought and that it had to be earned. The GM definitely bought his wins. Everything the GM does revolves around trying to buy wins. He’s a highly-paid coach too. Very strange comment by Eric.
