Kyrie Irving, a dynamic point guard and NBA champion, has been involved in several significant trades throughout his career. Here’s a chronological overview of his trade history:
August 22, 2017 – Cleveland Cavaliers to Boston Celtics
After six seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, including a championship win in 2016, Irving requested a trade seeking a larger role. The Cavaliers traded him to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Žižić, and the Brooklyn Nets’ unprotected 2018 first-round pick.
July 2019 – Signed with Brooklyn Nets
Following two seasons with the Celtics, Irving signed as a free agent with the Brooklyn Nets, joining forces with Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan.
February 6, 2023 – Brooklyn Nets to Dallas Mavericks
Amid contract extension disputes, Irving requested a trade from the Nets. He was traded to the Dallas Mavericks along with Markieff Morris in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 first-round pick, and 2027 and 2029 second-round picks.
