Dwight Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, has experienced several significant trades throughout his career. Here’s a chronological overview of his trade history:

August 10, 2012 – Orlando Magic to Los Angeles Lakers (Four-Team Trade)

In one of the most complex trades in NBA history, Howard was traded from the Orlando Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers as part of a four-team, 12-player deal involving the Lakers, Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, and Denver Nuggets. The Magic received multiple players and draft picks, including Nikola Vučević and a future first-round pick. The Lakers acquired Howard, aiming to bolster their championship aspirations alongside Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.

June 20, 2017 – Atlanta Hawks to Charlotte Hornets

After signing with his hometown Atlanta Hawks in 2016, Howard was traded to the Charlotte Hornets along with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. In exchange, the Hawks received Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and the 41st overall pick.

July 6, 2018 – Charlotte Hornets to Brooklyn Nets

The Hornets traded Howard to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Timofey Mozgov, the draft rights to Hamidou Diallo, a 2021 second-round pick, and cash considerations. The Nets subsequently waived Howard, making him a free agent.

July 6, 2019 – Washington Wizards to Memphis Grizzlies

Howard was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for C.J. Miles. The Grizzlies waived Howard shortly after the trade, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
