No. It’s unlikely that the Chicago Sky will go deep into the playoffs this year based on their current standings. That said, as a basketball player, I’m a big fan of Angel Reese. The average person doesn’t appreciate her overall value when factoring in rebounds and everything else that she does on the court. In my opinion, she has been more valuable to her team than Caitlin Clark has been for the Indiana Fever so far during their rookie seasons. But rookie seasons are rookie seasons: It’s rare for rookies to be able to carry teams in the NBA, and neither the Chicago Sky nor Indiana Fever are great teams outside of Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark this year.
Another way of looking at it is by understanding that Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese did not make Team USA’s Olympic roster for the Paris 2024 Olympics. That tells you that neither player is ready to be the main player on a championship team yet.
