Caitlin Clark is the closest thing the WNBA has had to Stephen Curry. She is in the process of changing the game in the WNBA. I think Clark is better than the woman equivalent of Steph Curry because she’s better at driving to the basket and as good as shooting from outside. She’ll probably struggle to get as much recognition as Curry because she’ll struggle to have his range. But from the three-point line itself, there’s not much difference.

Notes:

  • In her rookie season, Clark had occasional off-shooting nights which brought down the overall percentage of her shots considerably. I expect her to shoot a higher three-point percentage for the season in her second year when she reduces those off-shooting nights. One simple way to solve that issue is to shoot less when you’re shot is not dropping from outside. But she’ll also become more comfortable with shooting as she continues to put up more shots.

Fun Facts

  • She broke several rookie records: she became the all-time leader in points, assists, and 3-pointers made for a rookie.
