It’s not uncommon for tall basketball players to have health issues throughout their careers, which is one of the reasons I never like teams drafting them with top picks. Wemby needed to be drafted first overall though because he has the potential to be the greatest player of all time. With the Wemby news, it didn’t take long for Gregg Popovich to make it clear that he won’t be returning to the Spurs this season. We’ll see if he comes back next year when Wemby is healthy. Player Updates: Victor Wembanyama had one of the best rookie seasons in NBA history. He also had a strong appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics and steered France to a semi-final win against Germany in the bronze medal match. Thankfully Chris Paul signed with the Spurs for the 2024-25 season and we get to see Paul and Wembanyama play together. The Spurs having Paul should strengthen Wembanyama’s value because CP can feed him better. It should also increase the value of CP as well.
